2.5 magnitude earthquake hits East Bay hills, Berkeley

At 7:30 p.m. Monday, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reported near Berkeley, with its epicenter in the East Bay hills between Berkeley and El Cerrito.

A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reported about three miles north of Berkeley at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located less than one mile west of Kensington, a community located in the East Bay hills between Berkeley and El Cerrito, according to the UC Berkeley Seismological Laboratory.
