Berkeley police respond to reports of two shootings

Berkeley Police Department responded to two shooting reports from the past week, noting that the injuries sustained are not believed to be life-threatening.

Berkeley Police Department officers have responded to two reports of shootings from the past few days, as first reported by Berkeleyside. 

According to BPD spokesperson Byron White, on Thursday evening officers responded to a report of gunfire at Channing Way and Curtis Street, where they found a teenage girl who had been shot in her legs and hand. She was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. 

On Friday evening, officers arrived at the 2700 block of Acton Street where there had been a report of a woman in her 20s being shot in the arm, White added. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
