The Bears’ game Sunday, Sept. 12 against defending national champions No. 8 Santa Clara has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns within Cal’s program.

The Bears previously had their game against Sacramento State, which was supposed to be played Thursday, Sept. 9, canceled per orders from UC Berkeley and local health authorities. Cal has not played a match since its win against San Francisco on Sept. 2. The Broncos maintain a 3-2-2 record, while the Bears sit at 3-0-2.

Cal’s next opportunity will be a home match against UC Irvine on Sept. 16, which sports a 4-3-0 record after falling to Oregon State on Sept. 9.
