A fire erupted in a wooden building on the 2500 block of Haste Street for less than an hour Thursday morning, according to UCPD Administrative Sgt. Jacob Westlie.

UCPD received a call regarding smoke at a building next to Anna Head Alumnae Hall at 11:34 a.m., Westlie said. Another call reported flames shortly after, he added, and UCPD and the Berkeley Fire Department arrived at the scene before noon.

The fire was extinguished before 12:40 p.m., according to Westlie. There were no reported injuries in the fire or major damage to the building.

According to Westlie, the building is used by UC Berkeley, but no individuals had to be evacuated. The campus fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire, he said.
