A woman in her 50s died following a collision Monday involving a vehicle and another pedestrian in the area of Ashby Avenue and Newbury Street.
The Berkeley Police Department received multiple calls regarding the collision at around 10:00 p.m. and discovered the two pedestrians with serious injuries after responding, according to a city of Berkeley press release.
“Despite life-saving measures taken at the hospital, one of the women (a woman in her 50’s) passed away,” the press release reads. “The other injured woman (a woman in her 20’s) remains in stable condition.”
BPD’s Fatal Accident Investigation Team is currently leading an investigation into the crash with cooperation with the driver involved, the press release added.
