Berkeley police arrest man after alleged robbery at Shattuck Avenue CVS

Henry Whitmore was arrested by Berkeley Police Department officers after he allegedly robbed the CVS located at 2300 Shattuck Ave. Whitmore was arrested on suspicion of robbery, exhibiting a deadly weapon and violation of probation.

Berkeley Police Department officers arrested Henry Whitmore on Thursday morning after he allegedly robbed a CVS on Shattuck Avenue with a wood dowel rod.

At 9:05 a.m., Whitmore entered the CVS, located at 2300 Shattuck Ave. and allegedly began concealing items in his pockets, according to BPD spokesperson Byron White. Whitmore was carrying a wood dowel rod, which he allegedly used to threaten store staff, White added.

After Whitmore, who is 39 years old, left the store, officers responded and arrested him on suspicion of robbery, exhibiting a deadly weapon and violation of probation, according to White.
