Berkeley police respond to collision near Seabreeze Market

Berkeley Police Department received a report of a collision Sunday near Seabreeze Market where one person was injured. BPD arrested the driver, who was identified as a 38-year-old Richmond resident.

On Sunday evening, Berkeley Police Department responded to a collision near Seabreeze Market where one person was injured.

At around 8:49 p.m., BPD received a report about the incident from its dispatch center, according to BPD officer Alex McDougall. Both police and fire units responded.

The injured individual was then transported to Highland Hospital. As of press time, however, McDougall said BPD does not have updates on the condition of the individual.

After conducting an investigation, BPD arrested the driver, who was identified as a 38-year-old Richmond resident, according to McDougall. The driver was arrested on suspicion of a DUI resulting in injury, driving with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 0.01 while on probation for a DUI and driving with a suspended license.
