Updated 1/22: This article has been updated to reflect additional information from an updated Berkeley Police Department Nixle alert.

Berkeley Police Department located John Fizer, a previously missing person at risk, safe in Berkeley on Thursday, according to an update to a previous Nixle alert.

The previous alert sent Thursday stated that Fizer was last seen departing on an AC Transit bus Wednesday at about 10 a.m. near Shattuck Avenue and Berkeley Way. He was wearing a black leather jacket over a beige shirt and gray jeans and was carrying a Walgreens bag.

The alert described Fizer as a 5’10”, 75-year-old white male weighing 145 pounds with blue eyes and red/gray hair. BPD asked that anyone who has seen or heard from Fizer contact them and reference case #2021-2658.

BPD added in the updated alert that it appreciated the community’s help in the search for Fizer.
