On Oct. 9, the UC Office of the President, or UCOP, announced that it will once again extend its timeframe for remote work and limited on-site operations.

This status will be extended through June 30. The decision was made in a collaboration with UC President Michael Drake and other UCOP leadership, according to the announcement. A previous announcement, released Aug. 26, stated that the operation status would be extended through the end of this year.

“This allows us to get through the winter and spring when we expect flu season and COVID-19 cases to be at their highest,” said UC Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rachael Nava in the announcement. “As I am sure you’ve seen, other large organizations are taking similar measures.”

The announcement also noted that employee well-being is UCOP’s “highest priority” and listed resources available, such as the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, the Employee Assistance Program and virtual classes and workshops.
