With the Big Game coming up, we can’t help but feel a little sense of school spirit this week. There are a lot of things that we, as UC Berkeley students, have to be thankful for. To bolster our sense of school pride, we have compiled a list of discounts we get for being UC Berkeley students!

Here are some free spots to check out:

Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA): This museum is situated in the heart of Downtown, just across from Starbucks. You can’t miss this building, with its large, steel gray exterior and the bold red Babette Cafe on the second floor!

University of California Botanical Garden: The gardens are a popular site for biology/environmental science field trips, but you don’t have to be in these fields to take a trip up to the Botanical Garden! It is accessible via the campus H (Hill) Line shuttle. There is a succulent greenhouse and a private redwood forest across the street from the main site!

Lawrence Hall of Science: This nationally recognized public science center is fun for all ages. Whether you want to chat with scientists about a particular subject or are just interested in expanding your knowledge, this is a must-see before you graduate.

Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology: You may have seen the banners for this museum around campus before, but few have actually been! The current featured exhibit is called “Pleasure, Poison, Prescription, Prayer: The Worlds of Mind-Altering Substances.” If you’ve taken/want to take MCB C62, “Drugs and the Brain” with Dr. David Presti, this may pique your interest!

Here are some discounted deals:

San Francisco Symphony: The beautiful world-renowned symphony is heavily discounted for us Golden Bears. While tickets can go for upwards of $150, Cal students have access to tickets for just $20.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car: Want to take a road trip with friends? Enterprise has got you covered. It offers student discounts, which you can learn more about through its site/making a call to its office. They also offer a car rental program for students that are 18 years or older, compared to the normal age requirement of 25.

Corepower Yoga: Get your workout on! Call or visit in-store for specific details on student discounts.

There are also some great live performance discounts around the area!

Hopefully, this list inspires you to explore more parts of Berkeley and also saves you the big bucks while you’re at it!
