NOVEMBER 14, 2019

Nov. 14 is National Pickle Day. If you’ve only been enjoying pickles in sandwiches or as is, you’re really missing out on all the unique ways you can devour these dills. To celebrate this special day, here are some of the most unconventional yet best ways to enjoy your pickles!

Deep fry them

This Southern-style appetizer has been popular for quite some time now, so it’s probably not a surprise that it’s on this list. The sharp, sour taste from the pickles complement the oily, fried batter — you can’t ask for a better appetizer. If you love pickles and fried goods, give this dish a try; it’s easy to make at home as well.

Make a peanut butter pickle sandwich

You would think it’d taste weird: the sweety, nutty peanut butter with the tangy pickles. You really don’t know until you’ve tried it, however! We guarantee that you’ll find it surprising that they actually go really well together. Also, you can’t ask for a simpler cheap meal for college students.

Try grilled cheese with pickles

Grilled cheese by itself is delicious, but adding pickles will make it so much better. It’ll add extra flavor to your cheesy dish and make your grilled cheese much more fun to eat. Just like with the peanut butter pickle sandwich, this combination tastes a lot better than it sounds.

Freeze the pickle brine with popsicle sticks for pickle popsicles

For those who like popsicles, you have to give pickle popsicles a try. Just freeze the pickle brine, and you’re done! It’s the simplest snack you can make, and it’s surprisingly delicious. The tangy flavor of pickles is tasty served either hot or cold. This is a perfect little snack for pickle lovers!

Try one — or all — of these insanely odd yet yummy combinations. In celebration of National Pickle Day, get creative with how you enjoy your pickles!
