On Monday, Cal football head coach Justin Wilcox announced that starting left tackle Will Craig is out for the remainder of the 2019 season with a lower body injury.

Craig did not travel with the team to Seattle for their win against then-No. 14 Washington, as the sophomores absence forced McKade Mettauer, Matthew Cindric and Henry Bazakas to rotate in his place.

The offensive line unit — which has no seniors — has paved the way for the running game so far this season, gaining upwards of 200 yards against Washington the last time out. Craig made his first start as a Bear against UC Davis in week one and was highly touted by his coaching staff as a key role player on the offensive line.

No information was given on the timetable for his return to the team.
