At 11:35 p.m. Sunday, UCPD received a report of sexual battery that occurred on the second floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Union, according to a Nixle alert.
At about 6:30 p.m., a woman was drinking from the water fountain by the Amazon store in the student union when she felt someone squeeze her buttock, the alert read.
In the alert, UCPD requested that anybody with information about this crime or any similar incidences call UCPD at 510-642-6760, a phone line open 24/7.
UCPD reminded the campus in the alert that “You must continually get consent for sexual activity,” and that “Consent is a clear and freely given yes, not the absence of a no.”
The alert also provided various resources for those who have been harmed by sexual violence, including the PATH to Care Center, the Gender Equity Resource Center and Bay Area Women Against Rape.
