Cyclist dies after collision at intersection of Cedar Street, Shattuck Avenue

Cyclist Sebastian Rodrigues collided with a vehicle on June 23 and died five days later, according to a Berkeleyside report.

According to Officer Sean Tinney of the Berkeley Police Department, the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Cedar Street and making a left turn onto Shattuck Avenue, while the cyclist was riding westbound on Cedar Street.

The cyclist was on life support after the crash and died June 28 at Highland Hospital, according to Berkeleyside.

According to Tinney, BPD has preliminarily determined that the vehicle was at fault, although the Fatal Accident Investigation Team is still analyzing the accident.
