Man arrested on suspicion of assault on a disabled adult, assault causing bodily injury

At 10:51 p.m. on Thursday Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, officers responded to a report of two men who were neighbors fighting on to the 1500 block of Oregon Street, according to an email from BPD spokesperson Officer Byron White.

According to the email the officers recognized the two men from calls recieved earlier that evening that consisted of reports that the men were arguing and did not want police assistance. At the newest incident, one of the men had struck the other with a crowbar, leaving a cut/raised lump on his face. The 41-year-old victim, a Berkeley man, was transported to a local hospital for injuries to his face.

The officers arrested the 65-year-old Dennis Ellery Peazant from Berkeley on suspicion of assault on a disabled adult, assault with a deadly weapon and assault causing bodily injury.
