Collision involving pedestrian reported at intersection of Sacramento, Fairview streets

Berkeley police officers responded to reports of a collision involving an SUV and a pedestrian at the intersection of Sacramento and Fairview streets, according to an email from Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White.

According to the email, the pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and is currently in critical but stable condition. The 39-year-old driver cooperated with investigators and remained at the scene.

The police department’s Fatal Accident Investigation Team is currently handling the ongoing investigation on this matter.
