Heading into the NCAA Championships, senior Collin Morikawa has added another achievement to his long list of accolades. On May 23, Morikawa was named a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award.

The finalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award include one player each from the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the NJCAA. This honor extends Morikawa’s collegiate career to June 1 when he will compete against the other four finalists at the Barbasol Shootout to receive a ticket to the PGA Tour’s Barbasol Championship.

In addition to this recognition, Morikawa is a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award and the Byron Nelson Award. He was named the Pac-12 Golfer of the Year and is currently ranked No. 3 by Golfstat.

Morikawa and the rest of the No. 10 Cal men’s golf team will compete this week at the NCAA Championships, hoping to win a national title.
