Easter, the opportune moment to gorge on Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies to your heart’s content. Keeping things chocolatey but switching it up a little, here’s a hot chocolate recipe to drool over. Spiced and self-indulgent, this hot-cross-bun-themed beverage melds your classic Easter treat with your favorite all-year beverage to get the perfect heavenly Lent treat.

Ingredients

1.5 cups whole milk

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1.5 tablespoons caster sugar

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

Add the milk to a pot and heat on a stove to a simmer. Once bubbles form around the edge of the pot, add the spices, cocoa powder and sugar. Stir until well combined. To remove gritty texture, strain mixture into mug.

We hope this indulgent drink made your Easter a little sweeter. Cheers!
