UC Berkeley received an “anonymous, non-specific” bomb threat Wednesday, according to a UCPD Nixle alert released the same day.

According to UCPD spokesperson Sgt. Nicolas Hernandez, the threat was “a short phone call to the Main campus switch board.” In the alert, however, UCPD said there is “no reason” to believe that any explosives have been sent to or placed on campus. Still, UCPD cautioned the community to “stay vigilant” and report any suspicious items immediately.

UCPD reminded the community in the alert to call 510-642-6760 to report suspicious items.
