What’s Steve Carell without Michael Scott? And what’s Michael Scott without Steve Carell? Really, what’s the world — wait, no, the universe — without both Steve Carell and Michael Scott? Well, practically nothing.

If there were no Michael Scott (and Steve Carell to create this impeccably hilarious and sad and somehow relatable character), what would we even be saying nowadays? Surely not “That’s what she said” or “No! God! Please no!” No way! We’d be walking around with our mouths sealed shut probably. So, in honor of this extraordinarily quotable and prolific character in this day and age, here is a look back at Michael Scott’s best moments from “The Office.”

Every “that’s what she said” ever

If you need to know one thing about Michael Scott at all, it’s that his signature phrase is “That’s what she said.” You know, the same thing every middle school boy would say to turn any everyday, run-of-the-mill sentence into a dirty joke. Urban Dictionary calls it “the most versatile joke on Earth,” and it’s Michael Scott that makes it such. If you’re itching to relive every “that’s what she said” ever, you’re in luck because The Office US YouTube account has you fully covered.

When Michael hit Meredith with his car

If you’re looking for a classic scene of Michael Scott’s stupidity, look no further than this one from Season 4, Episode 1 (the first part of the two-episode “Fun Run”). Michael hits Meredith with his car in the parking lot of Dunder Mifflin while on his way to work, sending her to the hospital for a fractured pelvis. Oops. To top it off, Michael later says, “Guess what? I have flaws. What are they? Oh, I don’t know. I sing in the shower. Sometimes I spend too much time volunteering. Occasionally I’ll hit somebody with my car. So sue me.” Same, Michael, same.

Prison Mike

You know why they call him Prison Mike? Well, we hate to break it to you, but no one knows because the only person who calls Prison Mike “Prison Mike” (one of the many characters that Michael Scott transforms himself into at his employees’ terror and complete dismay, featured in the episode titled “The Convict”) is Michael Scott, himself. Prison Mike says some pretty horrible things, but the shock value of it is still hilarious nonetheless. Forget that show “Beyond Scared Straight” because Prison Mike is all we need to be good in this world.

Parkour

Parkour is pretty cool, but you know what’s even cooler? Michael Scott’s parkour. It’s all about using your surroundings to your advantage and getting creative with it, and that’s what Michael Scott does best. Much better than he does anything else, quite frankly.

“It’s Britney, Bitch”

Ah, yes! Michael Scott, the hippest of them all! There are few things more iconic than Michael Scott rolling up in a red convertible, top down, sunglasses on, blasting Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and saying “It’s Britney, bitch,” so matter-of-factly. We love you dearest Michael.

Michael Scott’s improv chops

Forget Amy Poehler, who started the famous improv school, Upright Citizens Brigade. In Michael Scott’s school of improv, when in doubt, guns out.

There’s much more Michael Scott where that came from, but here are some of our favorite moments for you to relive for now. That’s what she said?
