On Feb. 13 at 11 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle that ran into the side of a building at 2228 San Pablo Ave., according to a Berkeley Police Department Nixle alert on Feb. 20.

The driver — a 42-year-old man — was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and possession of controlled substances, according to the alert.

Fire personnel evacuated the upstairs tenants of the affected building, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company, or PG&E, turned the building’s gas off, according to the alert.
