Collision involving skateboarder, vehicle occurs at intersection of Parker, Dana streets

FEBRUARY 20, 2019

Berkeley Police Department responded to a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a person on a skateboard. The accident occurred at 2:15 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Parker and Dana streets, according to a BPD Nixle alert released Wednesday.

The westbound skateboarder was riding on Parker Street when he was struck by a vehicle making a northbound turn onto Dana Street, according to the alert.

The skateboarder, a 19-year-old Berkeley man, was transported to a local hospital with injuries to his head, arms and legs. The driver, a 23-year-old Richmond man, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing injury, according to the alert.
