Two weapons were located in Berkeley in the past three days, according to a community alert released by Berkeley Police Department on Monday afternoon.

A community member found a loaded handgun Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the bushes at the 2700 block of Milvia Street, according to the alert.

In a separate incident, an officer on a security check at the Berkeley Marina stopped a vehicle Saturday at 7:10 a.m for a traffic violation on Seawall Drive. Upon searching the vehicle, the officer found a loaded assault rifle. The driver, a 37-year-old Berkeley resident, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed assault weapon.
