Ashby Avenue is flooding beneath the Interstate 80 overpass because of the weather, according to a Berkeley Police Department Nixle alert sent about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The alert said Caltrans is aware of the problem, is on-scene to address the flooding and advises people traveling through Berkeley to take alternative routes.

“As a reminder, during rainy conditions slow down, use your headlights when driving and give yourself plenty of time to arrive at your destination safely,” the alert said.
