The spookiest time of the year is finally here — it’s Halloween! To ensure that you channel your inner Halloween spirit, take this quiz to find the best Halloween-based film for you! Whether you’re someone who thrives on a night full of frights or the type of person to opt out of surprises and scares of any sort, there’s a movie for everyone to enjoy on this amazing holiday.

    1. Definitely trick!

    4. I don’t care for either trick or treat. I’m just here for a good time.
  2. Do you tend to wear scary or cute costumes?
    1. I like to make my costumes as scary as possible. Throw in some fake blood and wounds, and I’m good to go!
    2. My only requirement is that my costume must be funny
    3. I like suspense, so I really like to keep myself guessing on what kind of mask, headband or other accessory I’ll choose to wear

    1. Horror — I love a little scare. Half the films out there aren’t scary enough, in my opinion
    2. Comedies — if I don’t laugh, what’s the point?
    3. Suspense I like a movie that keeps me on the edge of my seat
    4. Animation  I’m one of the biggest Pixar fans I know
  4. What is your favorite Halloween festivity?
    1. The classic acts of trick-or-treating and jack-o’-lantern carving
    2. The Halloween-themed parties
    3. All that matters to me is getting to hang out with the people I care about most
    4. I’m more of a Christmas person, myself. When it’s Nov. 1, the Christmas decor immediately comes out
  5. If you find yourself cast as a character in a Halloween film, what’s your escape strategy?
    1. Hope for the best! A little mercy goes a long way… right?
    2. Use magic, duh. After all, it is Halloween! When else can I use the power of sorcery?
    3. Run. Hide someplace discrete. Grab a makeshift weapon to protect myself
    4. Disguise myself as another person
  6. Which location makes for the spookiest setting for your fictional Allhallows Eve?
    1. My own neighborhood
    2. A cemetery
    3. A sanitarium
    4. A fantasy town of goblins, ghouls and witches galore

    1. “Trick ‘r Treat” — Watch this movie for a night filled with scares. The film adopts a nonlinear storyline with characters crossing paths throughout the narrative, which makes for an interesting and unexpected aspect of the horror film. One thing’s for sure: After watching this, you’ll never want to break one of the sacred rules of Halloween again!
    2. “Hocus Pocus” — Crack a laugh this October with one of the more comedic renditions of Halloween films out there. This movie has achieved a cult status among Halloween lovers across the nation, making it a must-watch for the season.
    3. “Halloween” — Add this slasher-film classic to your watchlist for moments filled with pure suspense. See the movie that started the entire “Halloween” franchise, which continues to expand and grow. The newest version of the film hit theaters Oct. 19.
    4. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” — Animate your holidays with this Disney classic. Nothing’s more perfect for unleashing your Halloween cheer than this stop-motion animated musical. Taking a shocking years to create, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a movie like no other from Disney and makes for the perfect watch for Halloween, Christmas or any time of the year.
