A shooting occurred early Saturday morning at the Berkeley Marina, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

Berkeley Police Department officers arrived at the scene about 12:20 a.m. after receiving reports of a man being shot in the leg, according to Lt. Dave Lindenau. Lindenau said the witnesses and victims have given contradictory accounts of what happened, so BPD does not have any details to release as of press time.

According to Berkeleyside, the man was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland just after the shooting, and was taken into surgery shortly before 1 a.m.
