UC Berkeley Professor Emeritus Tim Wallace hit by car, suffers moderate injuries

UC Berkeley Professor Emeritus Tim Wallace, 90, was sent to the hospital with moderate injuries after being hit by a car in a Telegraph Avenue crosswalk Saturday night, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

Wallace was walking eastbound near Oregon Street when a 71-year-old female driver, headed northbound, stuck him at 8:45 pm, according to Berkeleyside. Berkeleyside also reported that Wallace was transported to Highland Hospital to receive medical treatment for broken limbs and and a head injury, among other lacerations.

Police have indicated that drugs or alcohol were not a cause of the accident, according to Berkeleyside.

Berkeley Police Department could not be reached for comment as of press time.
