At least one person was injured and sent to the hospital after a car accident at the intersection of Hearst Avenue and Euclid Avenue late Tuesday afternoon, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White.

BPD received a call about the accident — which involved at least one vehicle and one pedestrian, a male in his 60s — at 5:46 p.m., White said.
“The pedestrian was taken to (the) hospital with serious injuries and I do not yet know his current condition,” White said in an email.
White added that officers were still on the scene as of 7:15 p.m.
The 2300 and 2400 blocks of Hearst Avenue were closed because of the collision, according to a Nixle alert released about 6:30 p.m. The street is now open again to all traffic, according to another Nixle alert released about 8:20 p.m.
