NorCal is great, but sometimes you just want to take in the splendid SoCal sun and completely forget about the wreck of a semester you just had. There are various cities in SoCal that you can explore, the most popular being Los Angeles. From amazing eateries to jaw-dropping scenery, there is so much you can do and experience. Here are a few of Los Angeles’ finest attractions.

The Broad

221 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012

A contemporary art museum on Grand Avenue in Downtown Los Angeles, the Broad is the perfect place to spend your mornings or afternoons. From Robert Therrien’s “Under the Table” to Yayoi Kusama’s infinity mirror rooms, there are a ton of Instagram-worthy shots you can take. Doors open at 10 a.m. on weekends and 11 a.m. on weekdays. If you don’t have a ticket, get to the museum as soon as it opens to secure your spot in line. Did we mention that the Broad is completely free?

Eggslut

317 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90013

While there are many eateries in the Grand Central Market, Eggslut has to be one of our favorites. If you love eggs, then this place has your name written all over it. The Fairfax is a great option for our vegetarians: perfectly scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and sriracha mayo held together between two of the softest buns you could ever imagine. For our meat lovers, the bacon, egg and cheese is calling your name — it’s very similar to the Fairfax but is served with extremely flavorful smoked bacon. The Slut is definitely a must! Made with potato pureed at the bottom and a poached egg at the top of the jar and served with a couple of slices of baguette, the Slut is the perfect addition to your brunch. We promise, whatever you get from Eggslut will give you a food orgasm.

The Last Bookstore

453 S. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90013

Definitely a touristy spot. Have you seen the pictures of your friends posing in a tunnel of books or smiling through a hole in a bookcase? If you haven’t, girl, have you been living under a rock?  The Last Bookstore contains thousands of books and some Instagram-worthy attractions. There are a couple of cute little boutiques in the store as well. Enjoy an afternoon of reading, slight shopping and exploring every inch of this magnificent bookstore.

Arts District

Beautiful and colorful murals surrounding the walls of the Arts District.  Every corner you turn, we promise you’ll discover a new aesthetically pleasing mural. Spend an afternoon simultaneously exploring the Arts District and spicing up your Instagram feed.

Manhattan Beach

Looking to leave LA with sun-kissed skin? Manhattan Beach is a place you should hit up. With its warm waters, glowing sun and small shops, this is a great place to spend a day at.
