As Golden Bears emerge from the lull of a winter-break hibernation, spring semester is already waiting for them, practically bursting at the seams with changes and the promise of more than a few memorable moments. For some, this spring is their last semester at UC Berkeley — and for others, it’s just another leg of the journey, but no less dynamic or exciting. Now that we’re settling back into the rhythm of life on campus, it’s time to begin looking ahead and planning for the future academically, socially and emotionally. There’s a new opportunity lying around every corner, and with only a limited time to take it all in, the spring semester is the time to make the most of it. Take a class you never thought you would. Introduce yourself to the person you’ve been meaning to get to know. Sign up for a club, even if you’re not sure you’ll have time for it. After all, life moves pretty fast, but Berkeley moves even faster.

The Berkeley we left behind post-finals week is not the Berkeley we returned to when we came back from winter break. A few local favorites have disappeared, others have been replaced, and others jumped to a new location.
