UCPD responded to a report of an alleged kidnapping, battery and robbery in People’s Park on Sunday morning about 11 a.m., according to a Nixle alert.

The victim, a male unaffiliated with campus, alleges he was approached in the park by another male wearing a tan wide-brim hat and burgundy fleece jacket when the suspect punched him several times, dragged him out of the park and stole his cell phone, according to the alert.

UCPD was unable to locate the suspect after searching the area, who was last seen running southbound from People’s Park. According to the alert, the victim suffered only minor physical injuries.
