UCPD is investigating an alleged sexual battery that took place Friday evening at the Dwinelle parking lot, according to a Nixle alert issued Saturday afternoon.

The alert states that about 8:55 p.m. a female unaffiliated with the campus was standing near the Dwinelle parking lot’s northeast corner steps when a male suspect allegedly approached her and groped her buttocks. After the victim screamed, the suspect ran westbound towards the southwest corner of the parking lot.

The suspect — described as a Hispanic male in his twenties with shoulder-length hair and wearing a baseball cap, sleeveless T-shirt and dark backpack — could not be located by UCPD after the police searched the area.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the UCPD Criminal Investigation Bureau at (510) 642-0472.
