UCPD arrested a man on Telegraph Avenue near Bancroft Way this morning in response to a citizen’s arrest for alleged battery, according to UCPD spokesperson Sgt. Sabrina Reich.

After the citizen’s arrest, an officer was flagged down to detain the suspect. The suspect then allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted the officer, according to Reich.

The man is now in UCPD custody and has been arrested on all three alleged charges — the original battery misdemeanor, assaulting the officer and resisting arrest. UCPD is still investigating the scene.
