Police are investigating a Saturday-night shooting on the 1100 block of Carleton Street — near San Pablo Avenue — in which one juvenile from a potentially larger group was arrested, according to Berkeley Police Department Lt. Andrew Rateaver.

BPD responded about 9 p.m. to reports of gunshots fired near the intersection of Carleton and Derby streets.

According to Rateaver, the shooting occurred in a “mixed residential and commercial area,” leading police to believe the event was associated with a private residence.

The name of the individual arrested was not revealed because of the individual’s age. According to Rateaver, possibly 15 to 20 other individuals may have also been detained in relation to the incident.

No injuries were reported at the scene, according to Rateaver.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the shooting is being asked to follow up with BPD.
