Attempted armed robbery occurs on campus, north of Alumni House

Two suspects attempted to rob a 21-year-old male student late Sunday night at the Grinnell Pathway on campus, police said.

The attempted armed robbery occurred at about 11:50 p.m. north of the Alumni House, according to a UCPD crime alert. The suspects allegedly fled the scene on foot after the victim began to yell. The victim was not injured during the encounter, and the police searched the area but did not locate the suspects.

The alert describes the suspects as:

Suspect No. 1 — A black male, 18 to 20 years old, approximately six feet in height with a light goatee, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans

Suspect No. 2 — A black male, in his 20s, approximately six feet in height, also wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans
