Police reopened roadways after searching for a suspect in an armed robbery southwest of campus Monday morning. The suspect was not located.

The robbery took place at the Wash & Shop laundromat on Sacramento Street near Dwight Way about 8:31 a.m., and some nearby roads were closed as police continued their search, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Jennifer Coats. The victim did not sustain injuries, although cash was taken.

The police will continue investigating the incident, according to a BPD Nixle alert.

The suspect is described as a black man with facial hair and a slim build, under 30 years old, 5-feet-11 in height, wearing a gray sweatshirt and “with silver teeth,” according to Coats.
