17-year-old robbed at University Village in Albany

A 17-year-old juvenile was robbed Thursday evening at University Village in Albany, police said in a crime alert Friday.

According to the alert, the victim, who is unaffiliated with UC Berkeley, had his backpack stolen along the Codornices Creek at University Village, which is located about 3.5 miles from campus. The three suspects then allegedly fled in a car headed toward Berkeley. The victim’s injuries were treated at the scene, but Albany, Berkeley and UC police were unable to find the suspects.

According to the crime alert, the suspects’ vehicle was described as a blue car similar to a Ford Focus. The suspects were described in the alert as:

Suspect No. 1: A black male, about 20 years old, with dreadlocks and wearing black clothing.

Suspects No. 2 and No. 3: Black males, both about 20 years old, wearing dark clothing.
