Police arrested three men early Saturday morning on suspicion of a felony assault that occurred near the intersection of Durant and Telegraph avenues, according to a UCPD crime alert released Wednesday.

A 19-year-old male student was standing on the sidewalk when a large fight broke out among a group of people on the street. When the student yelled at the group to stop fighting, the individuals separated, and several of them walked toward the student and allegedly attacked him. One of the men struck the student in the head with a bottle before fleeing the scene with the other individuals, police said.

Berkeley Police Department officers detained and arrested Nicholas Carson, 25, Hack Culling, 21, and Sergie Flores, 23, near the intersection of Dana Street and Durant Avenue.

The student sustained head injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
