Cal women’s basketball’s Gennifer Brandon was selected in the second round of the WNBA Draft on Monday night. Brandon was chosen by the Chicago Sky with the 22nd overall pick.
Brandon, a forward, averaged 9.2 points and 9.6 rebounds during her career at Cal. She was a three-time All-Pac-12 selection, finishing her career as the school’s all-time leader in rebounds and as one of only four players in school history to record more than 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Brandon also holds the Pac-12 single-game rebounding record, with 26.
In Chicago, Brandon will be joining up with 2013 WNBA Rookie of the Year Elena Delle Donne, who led the Sky to the Eastern Conference championship last season.
