It’s Valentine’s Day, and you’re standing on Sproul Plaza. Take a look around. What do you see?
First, because it’s National Condom Week, you’re bound to see a student dressed in a penis costume handing out free condoms to passers-by. Keep walking, and you’ll come across members fundraising for one of the campus’s LGBT student groups. Finally, you’ll probably listen to someone delivering a speech, perhaps on the subject of abstinence. Even within that limited radius, you’re already surrounded by multiple personalities, all dedicated to creating a safe space to discuss sex.
Now it’s The Daily Californian’s turn. We hope to create an environment where readers can discuss sex, from online dating to balancing your sex life with roommates. May this issue find a special place in your heart this Valentine’s Day.
