A female UC Berkeley student was sexually assaulted Saturday night on University Drive, which runs approximately east-west through campus.
A man allegedly grabbed the 19-year-old student around 10:15 p.m. and proceeded to restrain and sexually fondle her, according to a UCPD crime alert released Wednesday. The student struggled against the man and was able to escape. After fleeing the scene, she called UCPD to report the assault. UCPD is currently investigating the incident.
According to the crime alert, the suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-9 in height, with a light build, brown eyes and short straight brown hair, wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt and black jeans.
