The Weeknd at the Greek Theatre

If the start of a new semester is already beginning to stress you out, mellow out to the sounds of The Weeknd’s new album, Kiss Land, out Tuesday. Like the sound of it? Check out the mysterious PBR&B — aka hipster  rhythm and blues — star Friday night when he stops by the Greek Theatre as part of his “The Fall” tour.

Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival

This weekend’s celebration at Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco features chocolate tasting, local dessert sampling, live music and an ice-cream-eating contest. Guests can also attend culinary demonstrations by local chefs to learn how chocolate is made. Best of all, the event benefits Project Open Hand, a nonprofit that provides meals for seniors and the critically ill.

Shakespeare in the Park: “Macbeth”

The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival is hosting a free performance of the Bard’s most bewitching tragedy, “Macbeth,” on Sunday at the Parade Ground Lawn of the Presidio. Bring along your friends, a blanket and a picnic, and enjoy a free professional performance. Be sure to arrive early for “Witchipedia,” an orientation to the world of “Macbeth” presented by the three witches.
