Student robbed of wallet on Southside

A man was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in Southside Sunday night.

At about 11:50 p.m., the victim, a study-abroad student, was walking on Telegraph Avenue near Dwight Way when he was approached by two males who allegedly demanded his wallet.

One of the suspects took the victim’s wallet before the suspects fled in an unknown direction with the wallet, according to a UCPD crime alert. Over $100 was in the victim’s wallet, according to Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Mary Kusmiss.

The victim was unharmed during the incident, according to the alert.

After searching the area, BPD was unable to locate the two suspects, according to the alert.

One of the suspects is described as male, about 20 years old, 6 feet in height, of large build with short black hair and wearing a zip-up hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other suspect is described as male, 20 years old, 5 feet 11 inches in height, of medium build, wearing a black pullover sweatshirt and black jeans, according to the alert.
